India’s cities are growing faster than ever. They are swelling and bursting at the seams. Every day, millions move from rural India to its urban parts in search of jobs and better opportunities. According to a Mckinsey Report, by 2030, India’s cities will be home to 70% of its population with as many as 530 million people living in them. While we can’t stop our city boundaries from expanding, we can determine how this growth will be. Will our cities grow to be sustainable and inclusive?

Municipalika, an international conference and exhibition for the last 12 years has raised these and other important questions about the challenges facing our urbanizing cities. This year too, the conference, set to begin tomorrow in the culturally vibrant city of Jaipur in Rajasthan, will be attended by mayors, municipal commissioners, local city bodies, architects, planners and other decision makers. They will gather to discuss how the future of our towns and cities can be sustainable. The themes in focus will be Sustainable Built Environment and Good Urban Governance.

“We’re glad that we will be able to join this important discussion as part of the Canadian Trade Commission’s invitation,” said Renato Cudicio – CEO of Arsha Consulting. As environmentally friendly solutions are the need of the hour, we will debut Palmex, a one-of-its-kind eco-friendly synthetic thatched roof solution, made in Canada, of which we are the sole distributor in India.” Made of synthetic palm leaves which are fire-retardent and water-proof, this long-term roofing solution maintains the aesthetic qualities of natural palm leaves and is also guaranteed to last up to 20 years! It can make a great and green alternative to traditional thatch roofs.

Drop in at Palmex India at Stand No. F 200 at the Canada Pavilion at Muncipalika Jaipur on 9 and 10 December to know more!
