On Tuesday, 21st March, the Arsha Consulting team, along with their CEO and President of the Indo-Canadian Business Chamber (ICBC) in Bangalore, Renato Cudicio attended the ‘Invest in India’ conference. The event, jointly organised by the Canadian Consulate and the ICBC, was part of a road show covering 4 major Indian cities, starting with Bangalore, then Pune, Mumbai, and finally Delhi.

The Canadian Consul General in Bangalore, Jennifer Daubeny, gave the welcome speech, after which Brian Parrot, Chief Trade Commissioner presented various investment opportunities in Canada and talked about the very peaceful economic and political climate in the country. Another speaker was the very dynamic Sandra Pupatello, Director of Business Development at PwC, who elaborated on investment opportunities in Canada by highlighting potential sectors: high-tech industries (automobile, aeronautics and machinery), clean technologies, IT, Medicine, agriculture and agri-food. Sandra Pupatello also presented Canada as a very welcoming country, bringing together communities from all over the world and gave several examples to demonstrate the integration of these communities.

The event then continued with a round table, where professionals shared their experiences of expanding their businesses in Canada. Kaushik RN of Infosys, Mahesh Gowrishankaara of Biocon, Rammohan Prabhakar of Syndicate Digital, Mahesh Pratapnemi of Emergout Ventures and Shiva Hiremath of Sante Mernaud Pharmaceuticals, all narrated very positive experiences and highlighted the ease of doing business in terms of processes, the long-term vision of Canadians as well as the advanced technologies and knowledge available.

A second round table allowed representatives from different Canadian provinces selected for the event - Sudhiranjan Banerjee for Alberta, Mitali Bandekar for Invest Quebec, Madhur Agarwal for British Columbia and Ravikant Tiwari for Ontario to present the opportunities of each province, their investment plans and the sectors in which they excel.

The conference concluded with a brief explanation of the procedures for obtaining a visa to travel to Canada and the introduction of the interesting ‘Start-up Visa’ program.
